Our purpose is to safeguard the extraordinary and threatened architectural heritage of the Kathmandu Valley. With seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites in its relatively tiny domain, the Kathmandu Valley boasts a concentration and quality of architectural monuments and townscapes of significance to all humanity. Unfortunately, development pressures are multiplying and threatened monuments far outpace available resources. In 2003, the Kathmandu Valley World Heritage Sites were included on the endangered list by UNESCO. The result is that important historical buildings are lost each month. The provision of modest funding could save them.
